Interned at Meta in college but got a full-time offer as a trader and wanted to try it out. Realized it's way too stressful after 1.5 years (was working 60 hr weeks) and quit. Trying to go back to tech but the market isn't great, so have decided to still do trading with a lean to get back into tech in the US at a FAANG or unicorn in a few years. I have a couple of trading offers, Offer 1: Hybrid role in the US trading equities (doing discretionary trading during trading hours and project work after the close). TC = 250k Offer 2: Systematic role in Europe trading crypto. TC = 350k but high variance. Which offer would you accept? Current TC = 0 -- was 300k at previous company
Where in Europe? Cost of living would highly impact which role to accept.
I would stick to trading. There are also long hours in Tech.
this decision has nothing to do with going back to tech
Why not? Like I think going to the systematic shop will open up more doors for me in tech right? I'm not sure though.
it doesn’t make a difference in big tech unless people know the name, which at 250k tc is doubtful
