Washington/Bellevue Architect referral
Hello Blinders, I have a Remodling/addition project for my home that I need an architect or a designer to draw the plans so I can obtain the permits. Any referral? What was your experience and what the price I should expect? TC: $320k
How many SQ ft you are adding on and how much are you planning to spend? Prepare to spend 2x or 3x than your budget. All good contractors are busy, lumber prices and other building materials are high and there are a lot of small time incompetent fellows trying to make a quick buck as contractors because of the boom. If possible move to a larger home. To give you perspective architect costs 15-20k and structural 5k.
Thanks but I am not building a new home remodel basement adding a bath and small kitchen + 2 bedrooms, why something like this cost $20k I already have the basic sketches, done it in a day, what do you think my project cost total remodel area 1k sqft.
☺️ well when you go for permitting to bellevue city your hand drawn drawings will not work. They accept proper drawings and structural designs and sprinkler design, and God knows what else. Lay people cannot figure out all those complexities. That's why the cost. Because they have the expertise. Also all good architects are at least booked for six months.
You can email or call the city to get the requirements for permitting. I know Redmond wants sprinklers too. Which will add another 15- 20k to the project.
