Wasn't SpaceX Just a Useless Company?

Many of my smart friends hate Elon and Tesla. They went on to say SpaceX is good for nothing. I believed them because otherwise they are very smart and career successful people, and I moved to the US a few months back only. I always thought these people know more about what’s going on than I do. But lately, the more research I did about Elon, Tesla, or SpaceX, the more I believe how wrong my friends were. How come people who are so career-suited fail to see the big picture and the great disruption happening right in front of their eyes? The screenshot is about SpaceX, but there are similar facts/records about Tesla too. I just finished the new book on Elon, which sheds more light on who he is than what the media here portrays. Why is there so much divide in the perception?#

Meta Meta Girl Oct 21, 2023

most people don’t know what they’re talking about, especially on the internet - where you can throw out a hot take based on a clickbait title. https://signalvnoise.com/posts/3124-give-it-five-minutes

The rockets china launches are made with western technology and the amount scales with how far behind they are in total satellites . The rockets SpaceX launches on the chart you posted are mainly experimental or showcase launches. That’s why elon started starlink, an additional company to syphon money from the US tax payers. SpaceX has received nearly 600 million from the NASA to run a college project

^ here it is. This is exactly what I’m talking about

This is such a stupid take. If you get your head out of the sand you will see that SpaceX rockets are already sending astronauts to ISS AND landing those rockets back. No country on earth can do that.

Most I know are pretty proud about SpaceX, but don't confuse the companies with the leadership. Tesla was a great disruptor. I don't think it'll be so viable long term. Their self driving and quality control are shit, and other manufacturers have caught up and even surpassed tesla (especially in the "anything but a sedan" categories). There was that recent leaked memo where he's demanding a 20 micron tolerance for his car parts and went "if Legos can do it why can't we?", which is such a stupid take I don't know where to begin Boring company was the stupidest fucking idea ever. Literally you get traffic jams but now underground lol. Trains make so much more economic sense given how expensive tunneling is. Look into musk's history with x.com and PayPal. Not a lot of inspiration there. Same with Twitter. Completely tanked the advertisement revenue and not even close to covering the gap with subscriptions. He also lied about having a bachelor's etc. The guys a meme, not an engineer or business magnet. He's the ultimate grifter. He takes government money and pays shit with abusive work cultures. He's basically a younger trump.

^ this is exactly why this original post is up. So much bs in perception

Splunk BVHj07 Oct 22, 2023

Which parts do you disagree with or refute? Why are you conflating Tesla and SpaceX so much? Are you just going to post a "fud!" Comment with everyone who disagrees with you instead of actually having a dialog?

SpaceX might be the absolute best company in the world. Doesn't change the fact that Elon is an asshole with a God/savior complex who likes to overestimate his engineering "skills" to further increase his ego.

Did you read his book? Or are you just relying on the media’s click bait articles ?

Making to make sense

Amazon BidenBrain Oct 21, 2023

Because liberals cannot tolerate anyone who questions their stupidity. Elon questioned much of what the media pushed during Covid and the suppression of speech. He was of course correct but the left doesn’t care about truth only power. Meanwhile the left has no problem cozying up to Epstein Island regulars like Bill Gates. Shows you where their priorities are.

https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-photo-with-ghislaine-maxwell-conversation-destroy-internet-report-2022-10?amp In order to talk to Musk you shouldn’t be just a regular, but the organiser of the whole shebang.

Things don't always have to be binary. SpaceX can be interesting, tesla can be a poor quality car, and Elon can be a scammer all at the same time. It doesn't have to be all good or bad. Make nuance normal again.

lQqm70 OP Oct 21, 2023

Oh then why tesla sales are out of the roof? They are not even cheap.

Meta chat2 Oct 21, 2023

It is honestly surprising and couldn't tell you why. I myself made the mistake and had purchased a model x several years ago before I knew it was a joke and would be in the shop constantly. Tesla sales are falling which is why prices keep getting slashed. Again though the point is that two things can be true at the same time. Tesla can be a poor quality car and still sell well. Starting to get it? Not everything or even most things are team a or b lol.

We’re all idiots who just follow and parrot the news we hear. They’re just surrounded by anti musk news, others are surrounded by data about how space x helps space programs. Glass half full / empty principle applies to everything and everyone in life
