Depends on the team and supervisor.
There was a thread in the Wayfair space asking if people could actually say anything good about Wayfair. Here was one response: “So what I’m getting from this thread is (1) easy to slack, which is great if you don’t care about career progression, (2) food, which you pay for is, convenient and expensive (3) and people are nice on some teams.”
^this...I have just as much prior product experience as the product director in my pod (0)
Ummm... I see, I also want to know what is the TC from Wayfair usually like for SWE with 3 YOE?
It's ok. Increasingly political. Takes buy vs build way too far. Way too many junior engineers without a clue.
I wouldn’t recommend it
Why?
The difference between my (L1 new hire) salary and many L3 with tenure is only $25k. Granted they have more stock but still. I don’t think it’s worth to stay in the long term. Also, engineering practice here is horrible. Just look up many of the wayfair posts here. I’ve seen code written by a team of 3 non-English guys more beautiful than our whole backend. But aside from that it’s very easy to relax here depending on which team you land on. If you get your stuff done that is.
