Waymo RSUs

A friend told me that for parts of Alphabet that are outside of Google, the RSU compensation is not given in Google stocks, but the respective company stocks, such as Waymo. Is this true, and if so, (a) how does the valuation work for such stocks? (b) what happens to unvested stocks if someone moves from Google to Waymo (or other way)?

(a) it's voodoo and illiquid (b) they stay with you (or disappear, don't transfer from a bet to google)

Other bets may offer a brief annual window during which employees can liquidate their "equity" at the current provided valuation. However Waymo has not done this yet.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. That's a bummer as it makes it harder to move within the larger company.

It seems they changed that and you can liquidate Waymo stock
