Wanted to hear your thoughts on the offer. Grade 8 Senior director Base - 275k RSU - 200k in 3yrs vest Yrly refreshers - 100k in equity No sign on bonus My thoughts - Base is good but RSUs are low. What do you all think? What is a good RSU to negotiate back?
What is a good counter ask for RSUs and sign on bonus in the bay area
150K-200K per year is pretty standard at that level. It's mostly like you have to aim for a certain TC. Like 500K? 275+150+75(sign on)
Great, thanks for the feedback
Not all companies are the same..and when is more feedback (even if it is random people) less valuable. Irrespective of senior roles/IC or managers, there is always something you can learn from Blind. If you have nothing valuable to add, don't post.
Holy title inflation Batman!
I totally agree, they do title inflation big time, they will hire you as Senior director title, but in their mind they are hiring you as an Sr eng manager .... so don’t go by the title they are highly inflated
WeWork is a shitty company , I just got a Sr Eng Manager very low ball I rejected the offer, also the engineering team there it not upto the bar ... sorry to say that, but if you joining for growth then certainly this is not the place, also they are paying you way low
Even I heard bad things about their work culture
Honestly, this doesn’t apply to the tech org too much. Outside of the tech org, the culture is kind of “meh” I agree
I know couple of my friends reject the offer
Thanks for the feedback
As a senior director I feel maybe you should join other pre-ipo companies where you’ll make million + and also great and challenging work along with engineering talent ... just my 2 cents
faang pay L6+ eng more than that
This is a pretty standard RSU packet. We don’t give 400-500 like fang does at high levels.
Is the rsu per year or over 3 years? If it's over 3 years, it's super low. I'd also ask for a good sign on, 50K may be
RSU is for 3 years..so yearly ~70k.
That's super low. It's more like IC level. What's your current TC and location? Without that it's hard to judge!
