Wealthfront back stabs community

Wealthfront is going to drop their free management of funds for less than 10k. Old accounts are grandfathered in. I picked wealthfront since I liked the idea of helping people get started with inve without fees. It feels sad that they are taking this opportunity away from others. Betterment can have the 37.5 bucks a year this would save. I also feel uncomfortable when a financial institution changes terms of service like this that was once their selling point. Fuck them.

Are you actually using funds with less than 10k though?

Lyft hardfork OP Feb 4, 2018

No but the first 10k is managed free. I liked the idea of helping someone with maybe 2k extra to invest without having to deal with fees and brokers.

You realize that the fees for $2,000 are 41 cents per month? That's not a lot of "helping someone" either way.

Lyft hardfork OP Feb 4, 2018

Yeah but hey I'll manage your assets for free sounds better than I'll manage your money for money.

Also what's stopping them from changing it up again in another few weeks. I'd rather not get email from brokers about fees going up.

Dude their fee is like a fraction of a percent. Who cares?

What does fb have to do with intelligent portfolios?

Your bank and credit card company changes their TOS frequently too. You should cancel all your accounts. You know, for consistency.
