Wealthfront offering 6% Interest to MSFT Employees W/ Referral

DM for referral link. And yes I need the referral to hit 6% as well.

I think 6% is just for 3 months, trap

Amazon Zeus00 OP Apr 25

It does - the standard interest rate is 5% which is higher than Marcus Goldman Sacks. But 3 months is better than no months.

Amazon aRLk76 Apr 25

Opening up an account for just 3 months interest bump does not seem like a great move. Another 1099 during tax filing, and potential time spent for moving and tracking money.

Open a savings account at CIT bank, it’s consistently ~+.5% higher than Wealthfront in terms of yield.

Amazon Zeus00 OP Apr 25

Just checked - 5.05%…

IBM anonah Apr 27

Oops meant 0.05% , WF in my opinion hasn’t kept their yield high as consistently as CIT has. But I don’t have any historical data to back this. Just my anecdotal evidence. WF does seem to be closing that gap now though and has a better interface than CIT that might be worth losing that extra bit.

How is fidelity for parking money? Don't they give about 5 percent interest and sometimes more

SoFi j.rishel Apr 25

Why is it only for MSFT employees?

Amazon Zeus00 OP Apr 25

No clue - I imagine they’re just trying to make them feel special but are secretly executing the same strategy against every big business.
