Discussed offer details with a startup recently and a recruiter refused to raise the comp and mentioned that the company has excellent Glassdoor reviews. What are some interesting things you’ve heard from recruiters? Blind tax: 200k @3yoe
It is your choice now, this is our final offer (with a pretty straight face and monotonous voice)
I really hoped they would choose for me 😂
No one leaves our company..our attrition rate is zero
At least it’s not below zero 🥶
Our organization pays for relocation but your hiring manager doesn’t wanna pay. Hiring manager called me and asked to call recruiter and say that I don’t need relocation. Our organization doesn’t expect you to be onsite from the day 1 and you can attend at any site but your manager wants you be there for orientation. Good recruiters exist. Stupid me took the job and decided to quit in the first week when my manager’s response was ‘just do whatever I asked you to do’ when I asked a question on a given task to learn more details.
Yikes!
I had a man who has never programmed before YELL over the phone at me that at this point in my engineering career there is nothing I should be concerned with besides company culture, and the company culture in this remote role was world class.
We're having an incoming appraisal in January, and you'll get bonus according to your "behavior" with your team.
Were you a bad boy/girl/other? 😈
No LOL, I just asked recruiter about the metrics for the appraisal. She said depends on your behavior 😂
*Sends 3rd unsolicited recruitment message. “This is the last time I’m asking. Do you want a job or not?” Hint not taken?
"this offer is final" (offer wasn't final at all) "This company doesn't pay well but makes up for it in work culture" (yes it doesn't pay well but it doesn't pay as low as she was making it sound) "We've already gotten this far. You can't change it now." (I hadn't signed. I was able to get it changed)
“Refreshers are guaranteed.”
“And stock price will double every year. Guaranteed.”
🔥
Not the recruiter but HM said this: “I haven’t had a single person leave my team in past 6 years”. Stupid me bought this. 6 months in and 3 folks have already left.

Israeli precision-guided munition likely killed group of children playing foosball in Gaza, weapons experts say
The work culture is so good that people cry when they leave the company 🤣. Enough hint to decline the offer
