Weirdest interview/employee experiences

I don't know how often this happens or even how to explain what actually happened. Before I joined a guy was extended a senior dev position at the company I'm at. He take an offer for some start up giving him 400k salary and 20% bonus of each salary of everyone he hires. As a surprise to no one that company got their funding pulled and he asked for the original offer to be extended. Apparently we do and he's hired as a senior engineer. He shows up to the office for a preliminary onsite to bring him up to speed with what the company does. First thing in the morning he's given a laptop which is in recovery (wasn't his laptop, someone just gave him a random laptop). I fix it up for him and he doesn't know how to setup the laptop with anything, doesn't know how to install brew or any IDE. He doesn't know the difference between business email and his personal email and we're trying to get him setup with gsuite. When talking to him he has this almost dazed drugged look and a stupid obnoxious mouth breathing jawline. (Think slightly jutting out your lower jaw) He starts going to meetings and just falling asleep in all of them, it's finally the end of the day around 4pm and this guy is passed out leaning over in a chair. He starts to do that thing where someone continues to lean despite gravity keeping them in place and eventually he starts to roll out of the chair onto the ground. He's still passed out and he wakes up after we shake him a bit and he stands straight up. "Man, I feel like shit" then proceeds to sit back down and pass out in the chair. The meeting ends with him still slumped over himself and we wake up him, mind you this is a meeting with a consultant, lead backend, me, and the CTO. He leaves to go to the front and instead of driving home we call him an ambulance and he's taken to the hospital because of a seizure. The story doesn't end there, this guy goes to the hospital and our HR goes to visit him and sees if he's alright. He's fine and conscious and she leaves for the day to go home. His first official day is the following Monday. He doesn't show up, doesn't call, nothing. We can't get ahold of him. His Mercedes SUV is still parked out back in our lot taking up an exec spot. We tell him we need his I9, references, and to sign the employment agreement. He doesn't respond. Next morning the guys car is still parked and he never gave his I9, any references, and still ghosting the company. Third day, the final day he has to get employees before we can terminate. He doesn't show up and doesn't respond to us. His SUV is still there. We somehow get ahold of the mother and tell her her son's car will be towed if it's not picked up. Still no one comes to pick it up. It was 2 weeks later and this SUV is there the guy is nowhere to be found, we can't get ahold of him or anyone he knows and we just tow the SUV and terminated his offer. I'm convinced this dude came to work blasted off his ass on something. I haven't ever experienced something like this, thought I'd share for some fun and discussion hearing about other people's experience with super strange behavior.

The future took him. He will return as a 4400

Crux of the story was the parking space his SUV occupied. That’s pretty much what I got from this post.

Well I thought it was weird to leave a 100k car in a parking lot and not have anyone come and get it for 2 weeks. Surely it's easier to have a friend or family member come get it than pay a towing company the tow price and storage cost.

Free parking so smart

Although WTF, if he hasn't come for his car he is likely having problems. The last thing I'd worry about is him not signing anything or a couple days of pay. Be glad he didn't fuck up any of your org.

He never signed anything so he was technically never hired.

Then do nothing unless he ask for the money
