Hi Folks , I completed my final interviews with Wells Fargo for lead software engineer and performed above the bar . How much salary can I expect with 8 YOE ? I would like to ask 240k base + 40k bonus Location: NYC/ SF I see in the Job link it is 130k-288k pay range Blind tax Current TC :200k #wellsfargo @wellsfargo #bankofamerica
Lead is not a job title and what you are asking is way too high.
It is a job title and the ask might be within range depending on line of business.

Lead and manager have the same range. I tend to see leads getting mid or less in that range. Leaving room for promo later. Maybe a manager can opine.

Yes that’s reasonable. They were able to offer me similar in Charlotte area.. so for NYC they should be able to do that.

Yes. I was told Risk usually pays higher than business teams in wells
NYC is zone 0. In zone 2 my TC was 168k, no negotiating allowed, 3 years ago. There should be a market reference point that is somewhere in the middle of the range that was specified for the job. You will probably get 5-10% below that number, so ask should be 189-194. Or just ask 190-195k. You will never be able to negotiate near the ceiling since manager would have to promote you (or fire you) once you hit salary cap.
What LOB in technology …??this range is for lead speciality engineer.
Lead software engineer is usually 133k - 237k in SF. What’s the difference between that and lead specialty sw that the range goes up to 288k?

Your base falls within the range of 133k-237k for Lead software engineer. However, your bonus is massive! Has it been consistently 40% every year?
