JPMC relocation possibility?
My fiancee joined JPMC as SWE early this year and moved to Dallas,TX. Her entire team works from other location (Eastern time zone). She is really happy with the team and work but we both are staying in different states. And that sucks! She wants to move to Washington with me. What is the possibility of relocating to Seattle office or worst case to New Jersey office? Please help us if you have any information or experience of handling such situation. TC: Irrelevant
Apply to jobs in the location of interest. Pass the interview, get the offer, start working with the new team. If her current team has presence in Washington, she can stay with her team. Otherwise, apply for jobs on jobs portal

Id say it’s easier but that could also be team dependent. When I had the interview, we went over whatever I put I know on my resume. Had technical conversations with Q&A and a few lines of code written based on a little problem they gave me. It was easy Also, you have this advantage of already being a chase employee and even if u bomb the interview, you’d still get the offer. I know a lot of people who did badly in those interviews and yet they were hired.
Working in same team and wanted to relocate is not an option with JPMC. No tech team in Austin. JPMC doesn’t support your move. Only thing you can do is to find a job opening in your desired location and apply once you are through with the interviews and offer you can move internally.
Thanks @DHBM24 for sharing the information. Quick question, is there a wait time before she can apply for new role in desired location? I heard new employees need to wait 10-12 months before applying to new team or location.
There's a jpmc tech center in Seattle. I was told if your lob has offices there, the move is pretty seamless (on your own dime obviously). I have 2 coworkers who moved from the East Coast to Plano, TX with no problems. They submitted a request with HR, it was approved and they were given move/start dates. This is the only scenario and specific situation I'm familiar with.
