Chu*%#pa
It means nothing, at least in Redmond (look around the campus).
ATL is the point zero for this.
Thanks for sharing this and very well said! The details are disturbing and it aligns with what I have seen at other large companies I have worked for in the past. It's important that people realize that DEI is fundamentally racist and creates a hostile work environment and they can report these things to the EEOC. If the federal government bureaucracy is already captured by the woke managerial class, then it makes local and state elections even more important. In Florida they have passed laws clarifying that such practices are harassment.
“if” the federal government is already captured by the woke managerial class? Have you been living under a rock or something?
that happened 5 years ago
I had racists imply I was an AA hire 10 years ago before even working with me/talking to me. Trying to make racists happy is a pointless effort I’ve met more unqualified non minorities than unqualified minorities Racists going to racist though
Still no Dalit
I don’t understand the fuss. At the end of the day the guy hired who he wanted to and promoted who he wanted to right? He was just asked if he considered . Maybe if he doesn’t believe in D&I he shouldn’t work at Microsoft and join a company like Uber that was 10 years ago. He probably belongs there.
You missed the part where he couldn’t hire anybody until he lined up at least two underrepresented minorities in the interview slate. It took him months to get such candidates to interview, which led to project delays.
Yeah and that’s because microsoft has been clear about D&I as a priority and they are perhaps okay if that causes some ‘delays’ to project goals/ hiring may be because they can afford to. They are such a large corporation. This guys is a white straight male and has zero clue about the challenges a diverse (black/brown/Hispanic/differently abled) person has to go through even in today’s day and age in tech industry. Try being one of these for a day . It’s ridiculous he blogged about it like it cost him an eye and a kidney.
No amount of complaints will change anything until it starts affecting profits. Also, this is just virtue signaling and not solving the root problem of minority underrepresentation in tech. The high school graduation rates for blacks and hispanics is something like 70%. Most of those graduating are doing so with a 2.0 gpa. Few of that number go and get college degrees in math, eng, cs. So how the fuck can any tech company have minority representation inline with the population stats.
88% of Blacks / African Americans have a high school diploma. The US government census directly contradicts your numbers: https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2020/06/black-high-school-attainment-nearly-on-par-with-national-average.html Please don’t spread baseless, low-effort claims if you don’t have the citations to back them up.
But addressing the root cause of real problems is expensive! Warm fuzzies and one overpaid CDO is so much cheaper
This is quite similar to reservation introduced by indian government in government jobs

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Don’t yal get tired of talking about this?
If you’re so tired of it, why comment on it? I posted it is because it gives insight into a company’s D&I practices that aren’t public. It may help people optimize their interviewing strategy. E.g. the part where one token BIPOC and one female candidate needs to apply so that MS can make a decision on an open position may lead somebody to find a way to hack it by asking a BIPOC and a female friend to apply, etc.
Are you either of the persons you mentioned?
