I naively believed in our company and leadership. Then we were lied to a week ago! We were told by our incompetent c-staff "we've evaluated all offers and decided to remain independent". I would advise anyone to stay away from Zendesk and anything our c-staff or board of directors touches. Here's our board who turned down $125 per share but a few months later accepted $74 🤣 - Mikkel Svane - Carl Bass - Archana Agrawal - Mike Curtis - Mike Frandsen - Brandon Gayle - Steve Johnson - Hilarie Koplow–McAdams - Thomas Szkutak - Michelle Wilson https://techcrunch.com/2022/06/24/zendesk-drama-concludes-with-10-2-billion-private-equity-acquisition/ Also just learned a tough lesson on not holding onto RSUs and ESPP shares longer than I have to. If you're looking for engineers we're a good place to start poaching from. TC: 240k (thanks to stock being locked in at a three year low) YOE: 10

I don’t want to go back to work 😭
Basically a fire sale for a company with supposedly a strong core business. We’re all dumbfounded by this low offer.
No "we're" not. Get out more, read about whats happening in the rest of the market.
Your p/e ratio is about 100,you're not profitable and it's a firesale ?
Why the hell c suite decided to sell a profitable company?
Because they were scared an activist investor would fire them... That's my theory at least.
Our CEO and board was backed into a corner from questionable decisions about a failed acquisition. The recent correction in stock price made them panic and they accepted the first deal they could get. This secured a price for our CEOs hundreds of millions and accelerated vesting when he is removed and the board is failing to fulfill its duties.
CEO, CFO and Board need to be replaced
good strategy is to sell RSUs as soon as they vest. And buy something else to diversify. people who don’t do this will be holding a bag when things go south.
Same day sale ftw
I had some people tell me I was foolish for immediately selling RSUs and ESPPs since I started getting them. I hate that I’m feeling vindicated right now and hate WHY, but yeah. Glad I sold right after grants hit/ESPP purchase happened.
Is there change in hiring after the deal? I mean the hiring is freeze after deal?
Hey, I am due to start at Zendesk in a month. Has anything been communicated on what will happen with the RSUs which were promised in contract?
I recently got an offer from ZD for a decent base with RSUs, so what would happen to those RSUs if I accepted and joined? would they all be converted to cash over the next 4 years?
Yes, they convert to cash as they vest and just show up in your paycheck. There's still no indication what will replace RSU refreshes long-term, but if you're joining now you at least have a year for them to figure that out.
SNOW has better prospects in my opinion
