I’m pretty sure this will end up getting struck down. Might have to go all the way up to the Supreme court though.

All I hear in California is race & discrimination. California is a prime example of how a state shouldn't operate and why a state shouldn't be too liberal.

PRC - people’s republic of California

Microsoft TonyM Dec 10, 2019

Sounds like something California would worry about

It's not a law. It's just a draft lawsuit. In the US you can sue anybody for anything almost.

Qualcomm libertarin Dec 10, 2019

You can sue anybody anywhere in the US for almost anything because lawyers write the laws and they want to have full employment of their profession.

While I hate how standardized testing is misused, most schools do not use it as the sole decider and I predict this suit will be tossed out.

WeWork sissyz Dec 10, 2019

There is no such thing as a perfect draft method. SAT and ACT are the mental equivalent of the NFL combine. Even with hundreds of millions on the line, human performance is very difficult to predict because humans aren’t fixed entities and tests aren’t reality. (Not that college is either! 🤣) that’s why schools weight other indicators along with test scores. This seems like another liberal tantrum in their quest for equity utopia.

I'm so sad that people's time and money are wasted on ridiculous things like this. I cant imagine the people filing the lawsuit believes what they say. It's just a political performance/joke.

What exactly is their proposed alternative for an objective criteria? Should schools roll out their own imperfect admissions tests? Should high school GPA be the main objective measure despite significant differences in quality between different high schools?

Microsoft 特朗Pu OP Dec 11, 2019

Their objective is to lower US educational standards. Next up, they will sue employers

Credit Karma Confused😕 Dec 11, 2019

Sue employers for interviewing people? 😂 They might say it is bias and discrimination so there shouldn't be interviews 😝
