New grad, 3 internships (one at a big 4 - no return offer for poor communication skills), 100+ leetcode medium/hard, have read CtCI. Graduate in 1 month. FB - rejected at onsite Google - rejected at onsite Bloomberg - rejected at phone call (surprisingly) Citadel - rejected I’m seriously starting to lose hope. I don’t know what to do.
5 interviews is only the beginning of a job search. You’re already getting on-sites which means you’re close. Come back when you’ve got a dozen rejections under your belt, for now it’s just a numbers game and you haven’t gotten lucky yet.
what were the reasons for rejection?
I don’t know, companies don’t typically give feedback.
lemme rephrase, how did you feel you did during your interviews?
Keep interviewing and practicing interviewing. Google, FB, and several other companies regularly host interview practice. Find one and attend it. Try a site like triplebyte - if you pass their phone interview they give you detailed feedback of strengths & weakneses and where to practice. Talk to anyone that will help you. You've still got amazon, Apple, Netflix, Microsoft, and MANY others that you can interview at. Also, it's not the end of the world to start your career outside of FAANG. I did and I turned out fine.
I gave 32 phone interviews before I got an internship at Microsoft. I was even rejected for an unpaid internship at a startup. Don’t lose hope. Work on your communication skills. Good luck.
Amazing. Congrats!
Opt? Visa maybe ?
Fuck this interview process at all companies. Don’t take these rejections too serious..
Work on your communication skills?
