Curious about what skills does Sam Altman bring that could help drive innovation at MSFT? Has he personally pushed the boundaries of AI, envisioned innovative ideas or made other unique contributions to AI?
I have no clue but he brings loyalty since his team seem to be jumping ship to MSFT as well.
Brand
What is the use of brand in this context? For appealing to Wall Street?
Attracting talent
Name recognition and Microsoft resources.
He’s bringing in 505 people pre-vetted by the most successful ai company to date Agreed Sam himself is a marketer with no hard skills and not even a track record of successful exits lol (just one crappy sub 50M exit and product shutdown )
Yes the brand and OpenAI employees willing to follow Sam, but those were because he has been the OpenAI CEO. Wondering is Sam has anything to bring to the table other than being the CEO of OpenAI
He is next Microsoft CEO.
This was his 4D chess move to get a job at Msft
I am confused what Paul Graham saw in him. Being praised by Graham is what makes people give him benefit of a doubt. He would not become ceo of open Ai without it. But that is only my opinion.
He is a skilled politician
Nothing
Better stage presence than Satya.
Good question. Does Sam even raise the bar?
