So, I understand that some moderation is required on a website where social media is involved. However, there is a difference between moderating within a reasonable set of rules and being a moderator with no life and banning users and posts that you simply disagree with or you don't like. The best examples of this are highly upvoted posts with lots of comments in them and the mods simply ban the user and remove the post. This is a clear example of mods overriding what users want to see and post on (by both ignoring upvotes and user engagement) and instead the mods abusing their power to remove things they don't like. Reddit didn't use to be like this. However, here we are. I would like to find a good alternative to reddit at this point as I think the admins and mods of that website have ruined the website and I don't want to give it any traffic at all. Any good alternatives? Criteria for good: -Good userbase that can respond to questions intelligently and with some thought. -Doesn't have to be super populated like reddit, but still would like a sizable userbase. -Enough users to get answers on a variety of topics or about cities in the world (locals). -Non-ridiculous mods who clearly abuse their powers because they have no lives.

What subreddits were you interested in? Reddit ain't one big forum with a fixed set of mods and a homogenous experience for everyone. There are like a million subs, most small ones are fairly chill, large ones are likely to turn into shit. Even for the big ones that became shit, there are usually some decent alternative on the reddit itself. PS: I'm one of the top mods of a very popular subreddit. No longer actively moderating, I just maintain a bunch of bots for the sub.
What do you mean? Every Reddit has its own set of mods. Just choose a different Reddit lol
It’s pretty insane how echo-chambery and authoritarian Reddit has gotten.
