I’m a technical recruiter learning computer science and python programming, mostly because I love learning and find it interesting. Secondly, I’m looking to build a passive income in programming to set aside a nest egg over the next 5 years. Where would be the best place to start to do gigs for free (for now) and then paid 1.5 years from now?#gig #sidejob #startup TC: 160k + Options YOE: 6
Go into Exec search. Free money if you get retainers. 25-35% of hired persons annual cash, it’s way more than SWE once you are established
I’m an FTE recruiter right now so not sure how plausible this is but I appreciate the insight. To add, I’m dead set on learning programming to grow my own skill sets, so I’m primarily looking for platforms where I can contribute to projects for free until I’m ready to find clients myself.
The problem with trying to find freelance work without a professional network and pedigreed resume is that you'll be competing against developers around the world for that work You'll be competing against Indian developers who are happy to bill $20/hr for the work. Either you'll have to work for a much lower rate, or you won't find any work

I learned that after I figured out selling feet photos generates more income than working 9-6
Do a series of learning programming and python on medium. I have like only 2 how-to articles on there and I make like 50 cents a month :-).
To confirm, you are interested in learning software engineering? And then, using those skills to bring in more revenue (though the revenue may not be passive?)
Yeah. That’s pretty accurate. And software engineering might be a bit of a stretch but having the ability to work with data and creating insights for customers might be a bit more feasible. I’m really just open to any ideas and suggestions in the entire ecosystem of software.

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Lol
So…I’m guessing you have no suggestions here. Lol. Thanks man.
My suggestion would be to find something you’re actually good at to make side income with. No one will hire you (paid or unpaid) to build software for them when you have zero background in it. Even people from top tech companies and top CS schools have trouble earning $$ this way.
