Can people who work in hardware startups like Ampere, Barefoot, Flex logix, Groq, Sambanova, Fungible etc. comment?
The only way to make it big in HW companies is to be a senior exec or to take huge risk. Unless you are joining the big guys as an exec, you won't hit the big-time there.
It seems harder than the 90s to win at HW startups these days. I lost 3 years at 2 startups where both failed (early 2000s). My bad luck. The cost was low end salary, no options, no ESPP, no bonuses. I would have done better if I was in a big company those years. That's the risk.
