What are some specific teams that make joining a FAANG/high tier company more/less worth it?

Are there any specific teams that make joining a company more/less worth it for FAANG, Uber, Airbnb, Stripe, Microsoft, LinkedIn, etc. as a SWE? For example, things I’ve seen on blind are: “Amazon/Microsoft is tier 2, but AWS/Azure is tier 1.5”. “Joining Oracle is better if it’s OCI”

Apple isn’t tier 1 if you join IS&T. Google isn’t tier 1 if you join gTech.

What’s the reason for is&t being lower?

Probably because they don't generate revenue and they're meant to be for internal services and support

Which product teams are best?

Are you kidding me? We might not be Google level but we develop our own distributed databases, caching infrastructure, etc... Netflix is good but they use off the shelf AWS.

Any teams at google that are on the higher end? Barring the impossible to get in ones like Brain and DeepMind?

All this stuff about tiers is just opinions from peoples' particular point of view. Do your research and figure out what teams within what companies match your interests, growth expectations etc. My "tier 1" team would look very different from a person maybe just starting out.
