What are the best ways to build a professional network in SF / Silicon Valley?
No particular objective in mind. Just moved here from Europe and work in private equity/VC. Just aim to get to know interesting and ambitious people and exchange know-how and interests over a beer or two.
Professional associations; volunteering; social networking events; via coworkers referral; meetup, etc. Moved here 5 yrs ago and met a few of really good friends via volunteering.
