I(not part of the current lay off at Meta) have a pending offer from Atlassian as a P5 software engineer. With last earning reports what are the chances of future lay offs? I see that they are hiring very aggressively TC 🥜
I don’t understand how they’ve been able to hire so aggressively for so long
Co-founders with sufficient controlling stock interest vs other companies which are more controlled by external financial interests to a greater degree.
If this is indeed the stock symbol for atlassian. You got your answer. Look how much cash flow they have if it’s positive and are earning a profit don’t worry. However, those companies that have a negative cash flow and NEED to borrow money to make more money are the ones that will get clapped.
Oh yeah damn man it was at 180 a few weeks ago? I’m assuming miss on earnings. Most likely Layoffs next quarter unless they gave a positive guidance
Positive cash flow isn't everything... Even Meta had positive cash flow
High
It is likely because most of Atlassian's clients will suffer big time.
We have slowed down hiring, but not stopped completely. The business is solid, though we are seeing softness due to macro conditions. Our guidance for next year was a miss and hence the stock price correction. Atlassian is not immune to the market. Though the first signs would be to stop hiring and then cut contract workers, have not seen that yet. So hopefully, there won’t be layoffs, but no one can predict the future. If you believe in the company and find the team you are interviewing for interesting, do join us.
Well they effectively stopped most hiring and cancel contract for recruiters. So full time employees are next...
Don’t think there is a 100% safe company at the moment
IBM
Are u sure
Atlassian aggressively over-hired and publicize their mission to grow exponentially by 2026. Now with the current macro economic conditions those plans have to be stalled. Which means they have to shed some fat until the financial outlook is better. For that reason they’re gonna layoff in a few months but not as brutally as others.
Atlassian is still opening new roles. So I think they have baked in the needs properly. Else they would not open new roles after the stock fall.
If only people had those magic 8 balls
I do have 8 Lance Armstrong figurines though
Haha !!! That's a good one 😂
