What are the chances that FAANG suffer the same fate as ex-large powerhouses of the past?
During different periods in the past, different companies have enjoyed peak revenue and influence like East India company, IBM, Enron etc etc. Then either due to lack of innovation, changing geopolitics, bad management, fraud, growing too big and many other reasons they fail or die. No company lives forever. All companies will eventually fail.
Historically true, but have we come to a stage that with enough data and resources, corporations can just evolve and become immortal? Google hooking up with SpaceX, apple getting into cars, Netflix into games…
My guess is no. Given an infinite amount of time, the likelihood of all companies going under approaches 100%.
All FAANG will die eventually… …except maybe Apple and Amazon.
And Google. And Facebook.
