Engineering levels for software engineer at EA
Yes I would definitely recommend, its a good place to be.
I’m not sure what your question is? Are you looking for pay bands? What difference does the title / level make?
Typically pay bands are mapped to titles within a company . Having an idea of the hierarchy is useful to apply for the right position. If you were to apply to say Oracle or Microsoft would you not like to know the levels and title ? Even senior at OCI and Microsoft are not the same .
Exactly. They charge depending on the company. You weren’t asking for pay bands.
Do you believe engineering titles should be a secret for some reason ? Not trying to troll but why would you not want it to be transparent ?
So is level 2 better than level 1? I’m a new grad and got hired in as a level 2.
Bachelors new grad SE 1 Masters new grad SE 2 SE 3 SR SE 1 SR SE 2 PRINCIPAL SE
Wow so just having a masters degree puts you in SE2? I know people with bachelor's degree that are better coders/engineers than masters degree graduates.
Thanks much , I am assuming you were an ex employee. Sorry for the generic question , how was your experience ? Would you recommend it if someone were considering a principal position ?
