When it comes to benefits and perks, the usual companies are top of mind (eg. Google, FB, etc). What are the companies that indeed have great perks but not many people know about? And what are they? Asking specifically for companies that have an office in Singapore but general answers are welcome as well #workplace #officelife #culture #benefits #singapore #perks #apac
Direct-i in India.
What's this perk
Order food items on a chat room, get it delivered on your desk or meeting room. Similarly concierge service, if you even want something from outside, ping them they will get the items delivered to your desk.
Singapore Amazon has free bottles of wine and beer on tap. You'll need it though :)
Ahah well considering the cost of alcohol in singapore...
Or constant fear of being PIP-ed?
Wow
Don't forget the local favourite perk - paid dinner after 8 and cab after 11. Does it count?
Lol. That's the worst perk in the world. Unless you like never going home
I mentioned in jest but yeah, that's how some of the SMEs even startup darlings operate or expect out of their paid labourers.
Ex consultant here. Top management consulting- business class travel, loads of airmiles/hotel points etc. almost limitless cab and meal claims while on projects.
Do you think that's going to be the same after COVID? Wll remote change it?
Ofcourse not the same. But that goes for companies such as Google, FB as well- most perks are in office environments
I think we have some neat perks too.
Like what?
To start with, I feel we are taken care of very well. We were sent masks by company at beginning of covid. We also have option. To come to office if necessary and we are reimbursed upto $75 for commute and related expenses. I know colleagues who take use of this and I we to office and back. Plus all the other perks like onsite clinics, free health vision and dental insurance, snacks and soups (no free lunch though :() , worldwide coverage as part of our health insurance. There are also many other small perks
Salesforce is the right answer. Never worked there but from what I hear and see, seems like they really care for their employees and believe in ‘happy employees equates to higher performance’
Salesforce was recognized as hiring the most attractive women in the bay area 5 years in a row. 60% are in customer facing roles interfacing with men. Oops, we really like young, attractive women. Accident?
Adobe’s ESPP program - 15% discount to stock price and has. 2 year lockup period of stock purchase price. Max contribution of ~22K/yr, and can easily make 7k-12K more a year with smart allocation to ESPP
Can do that with twitter as well
Another adobe perk - 10K learning fund, 1K education fund each year
I’m gonna need a referral mate.
Feel free to dm me and/or position that interests you
MSFT has lots of seemingly “boring” stuff that you might value a lot though: time off, WFH, generous maternity and elder care leave, up to 14 weeks CoVID leave to look after your children, good health cover for the whole family.
What's the WFH policy at MSFT?
Basically there is none. You can technically WFH constantly. Obviously in the last 7 months that’s what 90% of folks did.
