What companies hire permanent contractor that allow digital nomads/ no permanent country ? I’d file my taxes in one country but Im trying to travel for the year. Trying to build a list to reach out to. Thx #Digitalnomads
Depends where you want to do this I think, but if you want to travel Europe seems like a good option since I see a lot of jobs that are remote EU.
Technically none, because there’s not really a legal avenue to do that. But you could probably find a startup that has a “don’t ask don’t tell” policy.
You’d have to be careful of work regulations in foreign countries on a tourist visa unless you apply for work visas, which vary by country and could be expensive (cumulatively).
Just use a remote mailbox service and make that your “permanent address”. Lots of folks who live in RVs do this. Usually they have a service to forward mail to you, digitally. Can anyone think of a reason this wouldn’t work?
Is that legal?
Lying to your employer about your address? Sounds like some kind of fraud.
How would payroll setup “no permanent country” walk us through how that works.
I mean that I wouldn’t be in one country. I’d be responsible for my own taxes and filing in my country of residency but am looking to travel to a few countries this year.
As long as you spend 50% of your days in one location (one US state?) you just need flexible leaders and won’t be violating tax laws. Companies like dell have a policy of no more than 29 days a year abroad, but they create plans on a case by case basis for select individuals and you can have a conversation with HR and your manager about bending the rules.
