Interview performance? Competing offers? How much does the HM want you? The hiring org's budget? Or what? My interview performance was good. I also have L4 equivalent offers including Meta/Snap/DD, but Google's L4 offer is far less than my other offers after negotiation. I am wondering if the HM can help in this case? I am really interested in the work, not just Google's branding. I will be working in a core Youtube team, and it is very hardcore (coding in c++ and handling very high qps). Meta offer: 185/440/75 G offer: 180/260/30 TC: 265k (3.5 yoe)
I don’t think HM decision matters in Comp!
None of the above. What matters is leverage: how much they want you, and how much you are willing to walk away. What is the minimum you'd accept, otherwise you will walk away?
How much they want me? Isn't it equivalent to how much the HM wants me?
Google lowballs hard. Not worth it. My L5 offer was way lower than my IC3 at DBX. I just walked away.
Only talk comp with the recruiter. Do not reach out to HM.
Thanks for the advice!
