What do employee badges mean at Amazon?

ive noticed a few different types of badges on amazons campus, does anyone know what they mean?

Based on how long you've worked at amazon

Aside from colors there is also the form factor. Most employees have the long thin plastic knob that won't fit into your wallet. Others may have a card style badge with a barcode. These are for operations employees who may have to visit fulfillment centers, wish may require barcodes.

Actually at AWS virtual location employees have the card style as well because they don’t go to a corporate office enough to warrant all the extra tracking the plastic knob badge has. Frugality remember. 😂

Yes this was what I was asking about. So the card shape is for fulfillment centers? Because someone told me the orange badge was for fulfillment centers, but then i noticed the two styles of blue badge and I became confused again lol

Blue means you love it, it’s the best place to work! Yellow means you’re on a PIP and/or really want out. Red means you think it’s awesome and people who complain about it just aren’t good enough. Purple means you’re divorced. Silver means you won the fire challenge and everyone else can suck it! Also, available and looking for an executive role.

Do you know what the different shapes mean? Like orange thin vs blue thin vs blue traditional card shape?

The normal card size is the old badge, the thinner one is the new badge style. You see both because people are lazy in converting to the new. Green and Yellow badges (contractors and temps) are the old card size. Blue means you’ve been at amazon for 0-4 years, orange/yellow = 5-9 years tenure, red = 10-14 years tenure, purple = 15+
