Low quality work, from the management perspective. Hearing how Indian managers talk to their Indian subordinates reminds me of my childhood (Military dad). This results in toxic environment and no one ever speaks up. Happy to keep slaving away, this is the kind of attitude that ruins the workplace.

I was contracting for a startup and at some point they decided to hire a remote Indian team (because it was cheaper) and let me go. Months later they were begging me to come back and fix their code.

For me, it's more the old world management style. Like where everyone reporting to them should kowtow in respect and accept directions for every minor aspect of every project. And God forbid if you think maybe something won't work or there are better alternatives. As colleagues and friends it's totally fine though.
