Does the prospect of more responsibility and a wider opportunity to create impact mean anything to you? For those who have been through promotions, what have you learnt? What is your advice? To chase comp or seniority? What does a promotion offered as part of a move to a different company mean? TC: 🥜😡
To me it means being able to expand my impact. Being promoted meant more responsibility, but also being able to hire someone to help me grow my function. It allowed me to expand my skill set and comp.
Emma or Leanne?
More work🤦♂️
Promotion is a rite of passage, it means you grew wiser, easier to jump ship than promo
Promotion doesn’t mean comp. That would be nice, but it doesn’t happen until you hit MD.
MD?
Managing Director, specific to finance (like OP).
Higher safety net.. in terms of comp and job transfer.
Just got one to Manager level, and it came with both. For me, it is almost a recognition of the work I’ve already been doing for the past couple of years. The most recent couple of contracts alone I served as a DPM, owned deliverables, served as a key client touchpoint, and built/managed several teams despite only being a Senior Consultant. So I guess it was about having my work recognized and being seen as capable of handling that kind of work, and beyond, going forward. Stepping stone to the next milestone and all that (plus a nice little pay bump - that’s always important). TC: $150,000
It means more stress
I'm jumping jobs every two years. Couldn't care less about a title or recognition. A better title won't make me a better interviewer. I'd rather be the lowest titled person in the room than the highest.

It’s always been about the comp. Can’t give a fuck about anything else
The reason why he has this answer is bc the title in c1 is dogshit. I would be down to have a title says I’m better than this dude
Lol and the titles at fidelity are better? Sure, keep working long hours for “impact” and “responsibility” you tool. Meanwhile I’ll keep enjoying everything that isn’t work
