BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
I work with mostly in house systems at Dropbox since new grad so don't have much experience with AWS.
Most sought after skill set in the market
true, that's why I am trying to pick up some of that skills. Dropbox is moving to aws as well so i want to use the opportunity to learn these skills without spending extra personal time
I have absolutely no idea but be copying and pasting secrets everywhere and it works
different levels to knowing. get a certification bro

Is certification still a thing?
Yeah I know AWS A Whole lot of Shit
just watch a youtube vid
If you're knowledgeable of the major AWS services, it essentially shows you have deep understanding of building highly available, reliable, scalable, distributed systems in a cheap as possible manner. That's a pretty useful skill.
true, not so cheap though it's a lot more expensive than running our own data centers. but it's becoming difficult for us to catch up with best tech by building a lot of in house systems with limited resources
You just need to know ec2, s3, route53, and ALB or NLB. EKS and Fargate if you want to get into containers and k8
thanks that's a helpful answer i guess some AWS databases too.
Can you map a problem domain into a service in AWS? Do you know IAM, networking fundamentals to understand how to connect some runtime to that service?
Would recommend taking the Architecting on AWS course. It gives a really high level overview of most of the services. It's really well done with really good explanations on tradeoffs between certain services, ie, when you would use one over the other. Besides that, knowing how to create infrastructure as code is helpful. For example, most popular is CDK via TypeScript.
To know AWS is to know suffering.
Why would you say that?
