Should I leave Amazon for Walmart?
I recently read that New York will require all listings in the city to post the min and max base salary for all roles. Will this mean that this information will be effectively the same for all other major hubs? https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackkelly/2022/01/06/in-a-big-win-for-workers-new-york-city-will-make-it-mandatory-for-companies-to-disclose-salaries-on-job-advertisements/
Feel like most companies apply a cost of living scale. So if you see a salary in NY, it’s probably equivalent in SF but lower in most other metros by some calculated amount
It’s going to make it real clear to a candidate elsewhere that this company does not actually believe in equal pay for equal work
Just base salary? Nothing new from Amazon then
Like Colorado?
Yes, it looks like similar to Colorado.
Not much. California already has a disclosure requirement.
Really? I have seen many job posts here without that info
California law requires employers to provide job applicants with the salary or hourly wage ranges for positions upon the applicant’s reasonable request, provided the applicant has completed an initial interview with the employer.
400k 4yoe, my base is 160k, I don’t think this will help employees
Hmm seems like this may be appropriate to say for a minority of employees… even in tech
