My manager has one backend dev left under him after I leave this sprint. The team had 3 backend devs about a month ago. What happens next? There’s no way they’re going to find someone to do work at this rate (without a bunch of time consuming step by step training). Tc 100k

Usually the remaining people and the team responsibilities get absorbed under another manager.
I’m surprised more places don’t put more money into preventing attrition. Imagining how this will work seems complicated even for simple projects.
It’s not that complicated in reality, happens all the time in the corporate world.

How so? I thought managers were basically untouchable in most companies.
Many projects get de-prioritized and resources would be moved around. In extreme cases firm strategy would change.
All 👀 on the manager and unwanted attention. It’s happened before and it will happen again.
Your manager finds a new job.
Maybe J.P. Morgan will finally get around to telling me my interview results from last year 😢
… is it weird if that makes me assume you’re an S tier dev? Getting an offer from Snap is one thing, but being ghosted by dumpster fires like Chase is true prestige.
Your manager may possibly get fired or he'll just hire a lot of people to replace y'all.
Depends on the blessing from management. They will actively fill the positions or the team disappears.
