What is your day to day? How does TC compare to SWE? If SWE and switched to DA do you regret it? Would you switch from a SWE position if it were to a company you really wanted to work for? TC: 175k

What is dev advocacy?
You're a conduit between product teams and their development users at a technical level, demoing and teaching new features while at the same time giving customer feedback (could be internal teams as well as traditional customers) on their usage, problems, etc. You might create and run hackathons, reference demos, webinars, videos etc.
is there any actual development work?
Creating hackathons, demos of code for new products, reference architectures, etc
Not as technically challenging as being a SWE at all. You basically take the open source code or new tool developed by your company, and create demos/talks to market it to other devs. You make posts about these topics online to advertise it to other users (think Twitter/YT/TikTok). You’re marketing the dev tools offered by the company and educating viewers. Honestly, I don’t respect the role as much as SWE.
PR for developers
I don’t think the job prospects are nearly as good. A 100 person engineering team may have like 1-2 developer advocates.
