Looking to transition from a front End web dev who has a background in HCI to a research role. Have heard a few things about the Experience Research role at Airbnb but would like to hear more from those who work there or know of someone who does. What are your thoughts?
It’s a really great team that is imbedded with design so the perks and culture are great. Certain managers are good and others are a dud so as always pick one that’s right for you. The head of design is meh, you can’t expect him to care about you unless you’re his favorite, and this is including workplace sensitivity issues- but that’s common for all the white male leadership there. If you’re coming in not as a manager this shouldn’t impact you at this point.
Is it ok if I DM you with questions? I’ve always been really interested in the airbnb research practice
