How much does a registered nurse make in California (at Kaiser, or any top medical place). Online sources say about $130k, but then again Glassdoor says that $120k is average for a Google software engineer, so naturally I have a feeling that the actual number for nurses is quite different too? Anyone have a spouse in nursing?
🤷♀️
I make $80.39/hr as a hospital RN with eight years of experience in a benefited position at CPMC. Kaiser pays a little more. PRN wage is 25% higher. Evening differential is 10%, nights 15%. CPMC pays in full for employee pensions, not sure if Kaiser employees have to pay anything for their pensions.
Not quite, most staff nurses work at 0.8 FTE. But extra shifts and overtime are readily available, so those figures are certainly within the realm of possibility. Pension is calculated only on base pay.
Perhaps it’s a difference between Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner? Nurse Practitioners need to have a Masters or Doctorate. Nurse Anesthetist are paid pretty well, need a Masters, and need to be well versed in chemistry and pharmacology.
