What is the hiring bar at big tech for new grads (in general)?

Whats up dudes and dudets, Obviously there will be variability, e.g. Google is presumably harder than Amazon, but in general is the bar for hiring new grads high right now? Or do companies have to hire so many people that the bar has fallen precipitously? If you had to describe how good you have to be to get a job at big tech, what would you say? Where on the spectrum from Terence Tao to Nikocado Avocado do you have to be? #faang #bigtech #amazon #hiringbar #yolo

I got offer at meta, like everyone and their mother. If you memorize 50 lc, you’ll get in.

This is why with Meta’s recent stock plunge, easier interview process, and bad press I declined their offer over Google. I don’t care enough about TC to go there, I care more about the overall quality of my coworkers. People seemed much nicer at Google compared to Meta.

Not that high. More top students from target schools go to prop shops or the latest hot unicorn than FAANG, at least that was the case for my school when I graduated.
