Bought a ticket to go to India (Indian citizen on H1) via Air Canada (2 hr layover) applied for a transit visa with 5 weeks to departure date, still have not heard back from them. 2 weeks left for the flight ... FML
Getting a Canadian Visa is a nightmare. Their website was probably built by some drug addict. They take more than a month to send you back the passport.
True!
Don't fly Air Canada if you're Indian. Canada is one of the few countries that still requires a transit Visa for Indians. Fly though Europe, ME or East Asia
You need transit visa to fly through few European countries as well if your us visa is expired. For example London. West Asia is the best for Indians. Fly Etihad, Emirates, Qatar. They are top airlines, excellent food, no transit visa hassle.
Actually, don't fly Air Canada at all unless you can't avoid it. It's a shitty airline.
This so called utopia are still running on COBOL
What's wrong with COBOL? If it works it works.
Ask your namesake
Did you apply for eTA or transit visa?

Wtf you need transit visa for that?
You need a visa to transit through a third country. It also depends on the visa rules between your country and the country you are transiting through. For example, Americans don’t need a visa to transit through Canada, Indians do. Most bully nations don’t need transit visa to transit thought another bully nation.
... and why would I ? And what is first world ? There is only one world as far as I know.
