I have around ~3.5k to spent on a laptop. I do a lot of web development and c++ programming. I am thinking about: Apple M1 Pro with 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine with 32 GB memory. Btw, is there a significant difference between that one and Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine? OR Dell XPS 15 12 Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700H, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Ti with 32 GB DDR5 memory I have no experience with macs, but I do have an iPad and iPhone. I am looking for less noise, long battery life and I do not like Windows environment for programming, if I work on Win then I use WSL.
Why do people prefer to code on a mac?
3.5k basically means you can buy both I think (or with little more to buy both)...
Xps developer edition with Ubuntu, the new xps13 is really quite great.
Oh, wow, I did not know about that option!
What is the difference between new xps 13 plus and new xps 13?
M1 is a disaster for programming. Docker is just SLOW/doesn’t work
Still the issue? I heard about that one, but I thought that had been fixed already.
Impossible to write any C++ code without that 3050
:)
I got an m1 air and love it
Looks like you answered your own question
I'm using an M1 for work, fantastic and very long battery life. I'm a Linux dude but the difference is minimal
Take a look at Lenovo P series, P16 in particular
