Have a call coming up with Google and MS. What level should I be looking for? I’m currently an L6 in an account program management role. Not looking to make less but I hear MS usually pays less and hardly any RSUs if not a SW role. TC: $240K with stock appreciation YOE: 18 years
64 is around your current comp/level if you're a pure biz IC. Generally 63 or 64 will have "senior" in title.
Is 65 not realistic at all. I looked into a 64 role before but was told that my TC was not possible for that role.
Generally sr IC roles on the business side are 63-64. If you interview a job that explicitly says you will be a people manager and has principal or director as the title, then its slated as a 65 (I've seen some L6s do this).
