What reasons are accepted by the visa officer when converting from H4 i.e spouse visa to F1 visa?

1. What reasons are accepted by the visa officer when converting from H4 i.e spouse visa to F1 visa? 2. Should it be a problem? 3. I hear there are 2 ways to do this- a. Fly to India(home country) and get it stamped there at the consulate b. Convert in the US itself without going to India (home country) I don't understand if this is true, if yes- what the difference is and which one is better.

1. Honest response would do - H4 doesn’t allow CPT, F-1 does. 2. In my case they asked my wife basic questions, nothing tricky 3. The second option takes much longer approximately a year, last I checked. We went for the first option. Another option is Canada to get the visa stamped

Its better not to convert..you can study while on H4 and why do you need F1 will be the question

And H4 is dual intent. You can become a permanent resident. A thing that is tricky to do while of F1.

If Course has fieldwork mention that it can be done only with F1
