I see a lot of people with really great salaries and I am wondering what should be my real salary in the current market taking into account: - Non-tech company - 4 Data Engineer + 2 Software Developer YOE - 3x AWS, 5x Azure, K8s, Databricks, MicroStrategy certified - Python, R, SQL, AWS, Azure, Databricks, Dataiku - Working in Netherlands (EU) #salary #salarycomparison #dataengineer
My current salary is between 50k - 60k €
That's sad man
Yes… I really like the company but salaries are not good at all 😅
Non tech === low tc
Ask urblocal recruiters most people on blind have no idea of netherland market
Well, you asked for normal salary, the norm is defined by the majority. In EU the normal salary for an IC in tech is between 30k for a new grad to 80k for a very senior in a high cost of life city. Even though it's really unlikely to reach 100k. Of course there is exceptions if you negotiate very well, if the company really wants you or any specific. Don't get fooled by TC you see on blind, top tier companies pay abnormal salaries that applies to only 0.1% of the population, that's not the norm When I was working in EU I had a very very high salary based on the local market and that was 100k, I was unable to find anything better that that, when I got my Meta offer the TC was 220k.
Meta offer in EU still or went back to US?
Big tech pays well though, in relative terms of course.
I DM'ed you
Can you speak and write fluent Dutch? In my experience Dutch speaking get atleast 10-25% more. In holland and rest of EU, Salary ranges of Product dev are quite different to service to non tech. Simple way to judge would be see salary in context of risk. It also depends on the area, North Holland salaries are lower then south, Amsterdam and Utrecht are the highest. In general, your salary should be in range of 65-80k.
techpays.eu if you want € basis of comparison.
With or without RSUs
Whats your yoe?
You’re better off asking in USD. People are gonna pick randomly with euros thinking of Dam market. Ask what you would make if you moved to California or NYC
Indeed, but that’s why I put I work in Netherlands. I am more interested on what people think I should earn here not in California. In California for sure the cost of life is higher and therefore the salaries also are really high.
I understand. I just think people from CA will tap random votes that skew your answer. Just from having worked in Zurich and SF, I would recommend asking about your CA value. That’s what helped me negotiate but just my experience.
