I have a decent case against my employer for harassment. My attorneys are super excited to file it in court, but I am worried about exposure. If I do this, will I ruin my chances of ever finding a job in big tech?

Meta E6 offer.
I talked to a lawyer to file against Roblox. Retaliation was a good chance of winning, but they advised against filing anyway. One reason was that it just wasn't much money (retaliation only nets you the difference in TC) and discrimination was really hard to prove since I voluntarily left (the only smoking gun is them firing or denying you reasons specifically for race/religion/gender). But the other reason was that a lawsuit would be the first thing a Google search yields about you, and that would hurt your career going forward. I didn't want to chance it. Out of curiosity, is your lawyer hourly, or do they take a percentage of the winnings? Just want to make sure "super excited" is for the right reasons.
Last question is most important. Had a law firm look at my stuff and they said sorry bro which I actually appreciated cause it clarified whether legal route was even an option for me
They take a percentage. An alternative option is to go through private arbitration, and my lawyers are okay with that as well. They are really interested in moving forward either way. The challenge with arbitration is that we have to go through an arbitrator of employer's choice.
Not sure if serious Court cases are a matter of public record unless they are sealed or FISA'ed or whatever Ask your lawyers whether they will cover your court costs if you lose and the judgement against you when Meta countersues. Of course you will never again be employed in big tech. Why would you think otherwise?
They do cover court costs. Why are you so sure about not being employed in big tech ever?
No, they don't. Anyone can find it themselves if they go looking, but you'd probably not want those managers anyways.
Believe it or not, even good managers don't like seeing those lawsuits too. They don't want to deal with someone who will sue to get their way.
Not sure why you replied to such an old comment, but the point was that it would require someone to actively search for it.
