Snowflake offer evaluation
Alexa, books, Goodreads, pxt. Earlier robotics and amp.
Jassy mentioned stores yesterday, is that physical stores?
Not sure about the stores, can confirm after checking internal org tree. Probably stores is a parent org of one or more I mentioned above.
What's pxt and heard luna too
PXT is HR
Did pxt already had layoffs?
No idea. Kinda insane there has been zero official news in my org.
Same lol no news in my org either.
Legal has instructed all managers not to give information. "this is a personal decision to accept or deny the voluntary package". They care about customer experience, candidate experience but certainly not employee experience.
Why are they laying off robotics? I thought they were doing good.
Not profitable. Non-critical, experimental teams in unprofitable orgs are the first ones to go.
How about security team in consumer org?
Anybody in the Drew org’s technical roles be in the danger ??
I think Drews org won’t have layoff again. But they may reduce HC using URA.
10k is only in swe? Or is it all orgs, because 10k employees is nothing Amazon has 1.2million
I think 10k in tech, including recruiters too
10k in corporate employees, which comes to be about 3% (which doesn't involve the usual forced PIP firing of ~6% every year under URA)
Alexa has been the worst affected team now. Complete organizations are laid off. The situation is really bad now in Amazon. Senior managers are definitely telling the teams to calm down. However, the pressure and uncertainty is there, which is making a lot of good people nervous. Life is not so simple these days 😅
Uncertainty has been settled as the SVP who leads Alexa has announced that whoever not laid off in his org are safe now
This is true only for Alexa org right?
Is there any company with No Layoff History?
Govt job
Meta until 2022
Stores should include Physical stores like Go and groceries. I thought groceries are making profit but may be I was wrong. They had already shut many stores like 4star this year. Not sure what are they going to do now
Stores doesn't include physical stores like go and groceries. Stores is the retail site. What used to be called CDO
Is the e-commerce Foundations org different from Stores/Retail?
Haven't reached 10k yet. Layoffs will continue till early 2023 (likely Jan as we have OLRs in Jan).
Wow, so unprofessional. I would rather layoff happens in one day like Meta. How people can focus
They need to wait until after Q4 peak for Retail teams and until after re-invent for AWS
