What tech skills you need to get into Google APM?

I'm an upcoming senior with previous internship experience mainly in Marketing & Business Strategy. I only took 1 CS course in stats and don't really have any tech skills beyond basic Python and R. What should I focus on to prep for Google APM interviews? #google #apm

Cracking the PM interview would be a good book to start reading. Other than that, I think you might be very underqualified for Google's APM program. Theirs in particular is notorious for being one of the most tech-heavy of its kind. Have you considered maybe going for the APMM program instead?

+1. Not impossible but improbable without formal background in CS. I'd aim for APMM, then maybe try to switch later if still interested.

I can tell you that nearly everyone who applies can do the job. But the applicant pool is very competitive due to the limited number of spots.

I'd disagree here. If you don't have a knack for business strategy, are unable to produce compelling presentations, or don't have a fundamental understanding of system design and trade-offs, you likely won't succeed.

Sure I can agree with that

Google’s PM program is not nearly as technical as it used to be. We used to only take PMs with engineering degrees, then only Eng could do the technical interview, now other PMs can do the technical interviews too. You certainly will need to be able to demonstrate your ability understand and work through technical product problems, but it is nothing like it used to be and certainly doesn’t require a coding background. That being said, it is a very competitive program and anything that makes you stand out is obviously valuable. Just don’t assume that the only way to stand out is a technical background.

it'll be hard unless you have PM internship experiences or have a way to stand out. Think out it has applying to a prestigious college. Luck+experience+background
