What to Do After Getting Laid Off?

In light of the present circumstances, it would be beneficial to exchange stories of job loss, discuss strategies for navigating the current job market, request recommendations, etc. Out of respect for the gravity of the issue, it would be appreciated if the response could include relevant details such as Country, Position, Company and details of the experience.

Not laid off yet, and have a stable team but there is always a possibility. Learning from surviving 08/09, and being laid off later at a startup. Save aggressively, if you don’t have a buffer delay any discretionary spending. One should have 6-12 months of runway before dipping into saving. If you already have it, start putting access amount in near cash, return generating stable assets. If you are paid off, make a routine. Something like exercise daily in the morning, apply from 10-12, break just like you take when working. A couple of hours of preparing/learning. End of the day networking or preparing meals etc. spend more time with kids if you have kids, and work on any side projects/house things you may be putting off (as long as budget allows).
