11 YOE / I7 at visa (Lead /Director level) on H1B 234k TC Cyber Security I don't foresee much growth in the current team. Didn't solve any leetcode yet but wanted to join FAANG at least by end of 2020. I wanted to target L7 equivalent roles at FAANG.
What role would be at L7?
Visa Director is entry level manger in FAANG

Join FAANG, but you’ll be a L5 @ Google with a 300K+ TC.
Hmm. I see my 2019 estimated TC will be around 280k+ including refreshers at the current role. I need to target something better than L5 to make it a difference for me, of joining FAANG
L5 can be 400+ for you because of your YOE. Google will most likely downlevel you to L5, however, will beat other offers and ensure that salary is not an issue.
Sorry to disappoint but it's pretty common for ex CTOs, Directors, Distinguishedes, from non FAANG to start at L5. TC is made more attractive than average L5 with huge stock offers.
I think you should consider us. While we are not listed among FAANG, we have more valuable data than Facebook and we are moving to google for work. We are doing what Facebook is trying to do for 100 years. Our CEO told congress that our tech is 20 years old. Lot of growth opportunities.
Titles don’t transfer across to FAANG 1-1 from Visa (or other industries in general) But you can get a closer idea based on your role/responsibilities - but be ready for a down level. How many engineers/dev managers do you manage at Visa? Depending on the company - you may or may not need LC for Manager roles. You can target for L6 at Amazon or L5 at Google and easily go well past your current TC
