What's better? MBA -> PM role or MS -> Senior SDE?

I'm 100% sure I want to stay in or around the tech industry. I enjoy coding and solving issues, adding features, running tests and so on. However I feel that I don't have much of a decision making/impactful role and feel that my individual contribution barely affects anything. I didn't work on research papers during college and therefore feel it will be better to go for MBA over MS, however MS by coursework seems contrary. Can anyone share their experiences with either, regarding the kind of challenges one will face or the skillet better adapted to either one or long term career outlook, assuming I end up joining FAANGMULA/FinTech after either of these? Also it will be great to know which specific courses to consider from some specific university according to cost benefit analysis. Interested in studying abroad in good universities (US/Canada). Currently working in India, wanting to relocate abroad. #tech #MBA #MS #PM #SDE #highereducation #masters

DO NOT do an mba just to transition to product. I see people with no tech background break in all the time. You have dev experience, you can easily land a PM role. I know this doesn’t answer the actual question

Well it will also open doors in Finance and Consulting, can use some tech skills to automate stuff there?

You can transition right now. Just start networking

What you need is a new job to give you the environment, not education. Smaller/startup companies are more likely to give you that.

MS doesn’t lead to Sr SDE. It gives you the same level as BS(L4). MBA on the other hand makes you L6 PM.

L6? Maybe at amazon. No way you’re getting l6 at Google or fb with an mba only
