They fired their CMO as well a couple years ago
Couple of years ago is a long time ago in tech
Not at Microsoft
I'm very curious as well. They have had over half their C-level execs leave in a 6 month time span
Might be good
I’ve been in initial stages interviewing there. Wondering if this news is encouraging or discouraging? Hard to know
I could tell you what happened at SolarWinds a few months after a bunch of C levels left, but you've probably already read it in the news.
i live under a rock, what happened?
Just a traditional roll over from people that have been around for a LONG time and want to do something else with their skills and street value. FB btw had the same thing with founders execs leaving afaik.
This also allows the people that joined in the last 4-5 years to take on a leadership role as there aren’t any more ‘new products’ just products they need to improve and continue growing on. They are already 50%+ market share in drop shipping.
Makes sense. The core business is “complete”, and the current leadership got them there. And they need headroom for the next gen of leadership to grow to. Maybe it’s just cascading. 1-2 go, more decide it’s time.
Yikes their revenue model is built on the success of dropshipping stores?
They’ve all seen their stock grow 3000% since they’ve been there. Honestly it’s probably good for them to move on as what motivation could they have to keep driving Shopify forward after accumulating that kind of wealth
Exactly

If anyone wants to work with the company they invested in (Swyft) HMU, I’m one of the founders :) Read the end of the globe and mail article ^
Sup
do you have remote positions for junior SWEs (1 YoE)? if so big down
Yea I don’t want to criticize people that worked very hard for that stock value to take some time off after riding the ups and downs for years. Its a solid business they have built and hopefully they spread their knowledge to other smaller companies.
